House on Stilts sits along the Danube riverside in Belgrade and is conceived as a compact residence elevated above the terrain to adapt to the natural slope and periodic changes in water level. Raising the structure creates a clear distinction between the ground and the living areas.
The exterior uses dark metal cladding set in vertical lines, giving the elongated volume a steady and disciplined appearance. Openings facing the river frame long axial views and bring in natural light throughout the day.
All primary living spaces are placed on the upper floor, extending toward the water with a recessed terrace sheltered by a sharp, angled roof. The structure is supported by a central cylindrical column and a reinforced concrete base, creating the impression that the volume lightly hovers above the site.
The outdoor zones are organized through a sequence of platforms that step down toward the river. These include a firepit area, a sun deck and access to a private dock, forming a continuous and practical transition from house to landscape.
The project focuses on controlled detailing, a restrained material palette and clear spatial logic. The result is a compact contemporary home shaped directly by its position on the riverbank.
